Dear Members,

We hope this finds you well and in good spirits for the Holidays.

Highlighting the literary aspect of NSAL, we began our 2023-24 year with author/journalist Jana Boomersbach speaking to members at Changing Hands Bookstore in Phoenix. Jana signed books and met with members.

Coming up, “Arts in the Afternoon” takes place on Saturday, January 20, 2024, 2:30 p.m. This  member and guest event brings together soprano Věronique Filloux and baritone Mauricio Perusquia performing in Dorothy Lincoln-Smith’s Studio. More details to follow.

Věronique is the 2023 3rd Place winner in the Dorothy Lincoln-Smith Classical Voice Competition. Mauricio holds a Masters of Music in Opera Performance from Arizona State University and currently performs with Arizona Opera.

NSAL AZ is now holding competitions in Poetry, Musical Theater, Classical Voice, and Dance. More information https://nsalaz.org/competitions/

Gustavo A. Flores, our 2023 Arizona Drama winner, competed at National and earned an Honorable Mention. He is currently performing with Childsplay and is an actor with Drunk Shakespeare https://feverup.com/m/117254

Mark your calendars for our Awards Dinner, Sunday, March 24, 5:30 p.m. and for the end-of-the-year Showcase Brunch, Saturday, May 4, 2024.

A gentle reminder to members, and those wishing to become members, 2024 dues and renewals are due by the end of January 2024. Please visit our website https://nsalaz.org/members/ to renew or join if you haven’t already done so.

Thank you for your continued support of the National Society of Arts and Letters Arizona Chapter. We wish you all a happy and healthy holiday season.

Sincerely,
NSAL AZ Board of Directors
